Winter wedding with maroon, burgundy, and greenery
Our top 3 favorite things about Canyonwood Ridge:
1) The natural landscape: lots of large oak trees and open grassy areas
2) The indoor ceremony area: great window light and beautiful vaulted ceilings
3) The scenic views: views of the hill country and breathtaking sunsets
The Wedding Day
Erin and Scott were a very sweet couple. We loved having the chance to photograph their moment together before the ceremony. Unfortunately, they found out on the day of the wedding that Scott was allergic to some of the florals! They were pretty easy going about it though, and it made for some fun photos (see below!).
They decorated the ceremony and reception site at Canyonwood Ridge beautifully. Copper and Birch did an incredible job decorating Canyonwood Ridge in maroon florals, moss, and lots of greenery. Erin and Scott had grandparents act as their flower girls and ring bearer, and it was really adorable to watch them throwing flower petals!
During cocktail hour, guests sipped wine, ate tasty bites, and enjoyed the the incredible sunset and hill country views while a string quartet played in the background. So fancy! We’re so glad that we were able to incorporate the sunset and views into their portraits. Also, they had FOG MACHINES for their entrance and first dance! Erin’s dance with her dad was by far the most choreographed dance we’ve ever witnessed, and it was awesome!! We found out later that both of Erin’s parents are pretty great dancers! During the reception Erin and Scott played the shoe game, which always results in a lot of laughter. Their guests had a blast using our magic GIF photobooth! Later in the night during the open dancing, we went back outside for a few night time portraits. We love when couples want to do these! Many thanks to Amy at Eclipse Event Co. for helping the day go off without a hitch!
